Jason Bay‘s agent, Joe Urbon, has confirmed to WEEI.com that his client will not accept arbitration and will seek a richer pact on the open market. The Boston Herald was the first to report this development.
The three-time All-Star hit .267 / .384 / .537 with 36 homer and 119 RBI in 2009. Among the other clubs interested in Bay are the Angels, whose general manager described negotiations with Bay as “new and developing,” according to the L.A. Times.
