Joke-oby Ellsbury appears to be softer than the Michelin Man. Can someone please explain how several broken ribs can possibly take 4 months to heal to the point where he can play without the prospect of re-aggravating the injury? I read today how he’s likely still a month away. That’s incredible.

This whole thing smells. What could he possibly do in Arizona that he couldn’t do in Boston or on the road? Having broken ribs would limit most physical activity. Sounds to me like the Sox had no choice but to allow him to go. I think he’ll be in a different uniform by next year.

when I was in my 20′s I broke three ribs.It took me 4-5 months,to be able to work.I was a bit foolish in the middle,and thought I was healed.I played a little hoop,and took a small direct blow,and I was set back.Hard to breathe,laugh,and most activities were almost impossible for months.Bottom line is there is a very good chance most of this is real and very painful.Also he hasn’t done his career any good not playing.He is a huge talent,and a great addition to our team.he will be a factor in the second half,if he doesn’t re injury this situation right off the bat when he returns.I hope he is close to 100%,because he can help us.
