I agree. I think Jackson would be a much better pick up. Oswalt couldn’t even handle the pressure of the NL east. He’s a good pitcher for an irrelevant team like the astros.

No need for O….get Jackson at a decent price as a #5….Bard can still end up in the bp as a shut down 8th inning or as a #4 starter…..left side of IF could be totally different by the allstar break with Youk shipped and Aviles on the bench…Iggy and Middlebrooks will bring great D and youth.

He’s made a career of pitching in the NL…why would he want to come to the AL and face the DH and see his ERA go up by .50 to 1.00 runs?  Plus the Cardinals have some $$ to spend with Pujols now gone.

And,Oswalt is not nearly the pitcher he once was. This is why Kuroda was the guy they should have pounced on.  The tricky left hander will fool everybody the first time around. Not making the effort to prevent him from going to NY should have been thought of as well.
