Bobby Valentine

Bobby Valentine, fired in October after one year as manager of the Red Sox, apparently is eager to find new employment. According to a report in the Connecticut Post, Valentine is a candidate to become athletic director at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

The report indicates that Valentine, a native of nearby Stamford, visited the SHU campus two weeks ago and interviewed for the opportunity to replace Don Cook, who is retiring after 20 years in the position.

Valentine, 62, has done some radio work since leaving the Sox. Before his stint in Boston, he was an analyst for ESPN for two years.

What does he bring to that position?

  • Johnny Spygate

At least the organization is a step up from his last job

    Who gives a sh–?

  • Bruinman86

Must be his people skills and legendary communication skills.

  • Jake

Could they really be that stupid?

The Conneticut papers won’t lack for news

  • Dope Hunter

    Hows the wife John?

  • Donalmcl27

A graceful step down towards retirement.  He does a lot in that neighborhood, could be good for all parties involved.  Good Luck to him.

This is surprising, I didn’t think he would manage again, at any level.

  • Dope Hunter

Did you read the same article that I just read?  Manager, I thought it said Athletic Director?

  • Johnny’s urinal cake

i bet you like to get pissed on, right in your face.

  • Bruinman86

…Let alone find someone stupid enough to hire him again, let alone in New England!!  Especially with things so fresh in memory.

  • Dope Hunter

Wait a minute fella’s, he was the ML Carr of the Red Sox, as in was set up to fail……

  • Ih8sno

Well, at the very least it will take the focus off the Priest.

  • Bruinman86

True – I believe he could very well been the fall guy, but he stepped into so much crap of his own doing. Setup to fail or not, he made it much more worse than it had to be.

To even be considered is ridiculous.

     troll

  • Hawkmans’ cousin

Good for him. Hey everyone hating Bobby V., it was last year..let it go, holding a grudge against the man isn’t going to make this years team play any better. It’s time to let go.

  • Richard in Canton

What is Sacred Heart thinking ?????????????

  • Dfx523

Always amazes me when trolls like Johnny Douchbag continue to make negative comments on a Boston board. Some people are positive, some are negative, and some like Johnny Boy are simply loser momma’s boys. Get a life Johnny….any moron regardless of who they root for know that Bobby V had to go, and that the Red Sox are one of the best organizations in all of sports.

My only hope is that SH not being in the SHOW, Valentine can tone down his act, forget the Capt Queeg this year Bobby, just be nice and do the right thing, no more ego shows.

  • Doug

    A possible Psycho act?

  • Doug

He  could continue developing the “WRAP” that would keep him busy!

  • Doug

They’re not, obviously! maybe take the hear off the Priests?

  • Doug

This is almost funny!  An AD at a college?  Who in that administration has the juice to hire and complete whacko like Bobby?  He could spend time perfecting the WRAP, or he could go down memory lane regaling everyone with his exploits in Professional Baseball, or he just might fall flat on his face as he won’t get the pub that his Ego requires!  We shall see.

  • Bruinman86

The only wrap should be his coaching career!

  • Fred

Oh Great! The students will just adore this jerk off.

    Good Luck Bobby
